For a woman, an OB/Gyn would be a good choice. For a man, I would actually seek out a birthcontrol clinic. Many many family doctors just aren’t very knowledgable about herpes – and can give out misinformation or misdiagnose. Even urologists, while more reliable, can be misinformed about STDs. If it were me, I’d want to go to someone who sees STDs every single day – not just someone who focuses mostly on urinary tract infections and/or prostate problems. And that would be an STD or birth control clinic.
Planned parenthood will take anyone of any gender. That would be my first choice. If that is unacceptable, then a urologist or family practitioner or internist.
If your a female you can go to your OB/GYN or male, your family doctor can help as well… There is always places to go.
