Is It Likely That I Have Oral Herpes If I Did Not Have Any Symptoms For 5-6 Months?

After having oral sex once i developed canker sores, i researched these and found out that they are not related to herpes in any way. I have not had any oral or any other types of sex since this and just now i have a dry, cut like thing on the side of my lip, is this possible to be herpes? Is it likely? Do symptoms usually take this long to come out?

  1. Chancre sores are common in syphilis infections, and herpes are more like a fluid filled blister, and are incredibly painful. It is not unusual for symptoms to appear for months, and in come cases, never. Get tested to be sure.

  2. canker sores are not herpes, but cold sores are.
the cut, idk, unless you had a blister/pimple like thing there before the cut….if so, then herpes…
even if you have herpes you might not know for some time. it can stay dormant for years before you have an outbreak, and inbetween outbreaks. herpes is not detectable in most STD tests…they usually have to do a swab test while you’re having an outbreak. outbreaks are not always painful…i’ve never had one that felt worse than a mosquito bite.
